Is there really a free tier?+
Yes — forever. The Contributor tier gives you 3 briefs per month at $0, in exchange for one case outcome per quarter. The network only works because everyone feeds it, so we trade access for data instead of a credit card.
What do I get on the free Contributor tier?+
3 pre-hearing briefs per month, full judge and opposing-counsel identity, the ability to save judges and counsel to a watchlist, and a place to submit case outcomes. Premium analytics — judge tendencies, motion grant rates, opposing-counsel win/settle stats, and comparable case outcomes — are locked. Upgrade to Solo ($99/mo) to unlock everything.
What happens if I stop contributing?+
You'll get a reminder around day 76, a 14-day grace period starting day 90, and brief generation pauses at day 105 until you submit one case outcome. It takes about 90 seconds. We'll never charge you to reactivate — just contribute.
Where does the data come from?+
Federal data from CourtListener (free, public). State-court data is crowdsourced from verified attorneys, with seeded demo data clearly labeled until coverage builds. Every statistic shows its sample size and source.
What if there isn't enough data on my judge?+
We tell you. When the sample size is below 5, we suppress the stat and show 'insufficient data — be the first to contribute.' We refuse to fake depth — sophisticated lawyer-users will sniff it out.
How is this different from Lex Machina or Trellis?+
